About Jessica

 

Jessica A. Pauly is an organizational communication change agent. Formerly, Jessica was an Assistant Professor at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, until June 2o23. She relocated to the Bay Area in July 2023.

Dr. Pauly received her B.A. in communication studies in 2007 from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She worked full time as a merchandizing coordinator in New York City at Marcolin and then as a project manager with MARR International GROUP until 2011. In 2014, Dr. Pauly received her M.A. in communication studies from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, working full-time in the Center for Civic and Social Responsibility. In 2018 she received her Ph.D. in organizational communication from the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University.

During her academic career she taught over a dozen unique courses in communication. She is trained in qualitative methods, and is known for her interest in organizational culture, gender, and religion. Dr. Pauly has been involved with Service Learning as a pedagogy to encourage students to become engaged citizens, and often partnered with local organizations for this purpose.

Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska; Jessica enjoys baking pies, writing handwritten letters, and enjoying a walk with her husband, Matt, her kiddos, and her diva dachshund Herbie.
